Integrated Report 2024:
Increased desire to travel and severe weather impacted the result
In 2024, SOS International assisted more than 1.3 million people with services such as roadside assistance, travel support, and psychological counselling. A satisfactory financial result enables further investment in the future.
SOS International closed 2024 with increased profits, driven in part by growing activity in the Travelcare and Mobility divisions. The results also indicate that initiatives from the "Going in One Direction" strategy are beginning to deliver the desired effect.
The financial result before tax amounted to DKK 57 million. This should be seen in relation to a revenue of DKK 3,000 million. CEO Jan Sigurdur Christensen describes the result as satisfactory:
"The combination of our strategic initiatives and a positive market development has resulted in a solid outcome for 2024. We have strengthened our financial foundation, which is crucial as it allows us to implement initiatives that will enhance SOS International’s competitiveness both in the short and long term."
Jan Sigurdur Christensen emphasises that it remains essential to focus on the core business and execute the strategy to ensure long-term financial sustainability.
Beyond a positive financial performance, SOS International successfully maintained market share, attracted new customers, and improved customer satisfaction in 2024.
A Thriving Travel Industry
2024 was another year of growth in the travel industry. After a prolonged downturn caused by COVID-19, the global travel sector began its recovery in 2023. Expectations of increased travel demand in 2024 proved accurate, reflected in the results of the Travelcare division.
Record Demand for Roadside Assistance
The year 2024 started with a record. On 3 January 2024, SOS International experienced its busiest day ever, with over 18,000 calls to its roadside assistance emergency centres.
Severe winter weather across the Nordic countries left thousands of motorists stranded, requiring assistance. Across the region, SOS International handled 63 per cent more calls than on an average January day.
Sustainability as a Strategic Focus
In 2023, SOS International conducted its first double materiality analysis. To ensure that changes in our business and external environment are reflected in our approach, we carried out another double materiality analysis in 2024.
Based on these findings, SOS International established its first sustainability strategy in 2024, addressing key impacts, risks, and opportunities.
